Director, Corporate Development

Location: Remote with occasional travel required

Position Summary

As the Director of Corporate Development, you will be responsible for an extensive range of analytical, quantitative and strategic projects to support FoodChain ID’s acquisition strategy and corporate growth initiatives. You will work closely with FoodChain ID’s Chief Executive Officer and Sr. Vice President of Corporate Development. In addition, the candidate will collaborate directly with the investment professionals at Berkshire Partners.

Responsibilities

• Participate in meetings and presentations with prospective acquisition targets.
• Interact with investment bankers, search and lead companies or providers enabling access to potential targets.
• Manage the CRM tool tracking interactions with several hundred prospective acquisition targets.
• Perform financial valuation and returns analyses on acquisition candidates.
• Participate in M&A due diligence including business, financial, HR, commercial and legal.
• Support the automation of M&A processes, including lead generation, outreach, evaluation, and integration.
• Help improve M&A playbook to better enable internal processes for serial M&A.
• Coordinate integration planning for acquired business with the various internal stakeholders.
• Assist in negotiation processes such as merger agreements and contracts with external parties/vendors.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant experience that demonstrates a knowledge of financial analysis capabilities and corporate forecasting processes (investment banking, management consulting, transaction advisory, or private equity preferred).
• Proficient in building financial/valuation models in Excel.
• Demonstrated history of solving problems and driving projects to completion with limited oversight and guidance.
• Strong affinity to AI and AI assisted processes.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to distill large amounts of data into coherent summary written and oral presentations for senior executives.
• Detail oriented, inquisitive and analytical as this position requires heavy data analytics and synthesis.
• Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, be self-motivated with a desire to excel and grow within the company; team player willing to cross-train is essential.
• Confidentiality. A high degree of personal character and integrity is required.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or related field. Preferred from a top undergraduate program.
