Job description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what's possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

As a senior leader in Rivian's centralized Corporate Development and Integration group, you will play the primary ownership role in acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, strategic partnerships and other meaningful external engagements that support Rivian's mission and company goals. You will be responsible for and lead entire processes including strategy formulation and fundamental decision-making, financial modeling/valuation analysis, due diligence, project management with a variety of stakeholders and workstreams, negotiation and deal execution, working with business leaders, internal cross functional partners and external advisors. You will work closely with senior leadership at Rivian as their partner for corporate development matters.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders in driving strategy and solutions for complex strategic questions with engagement from business executives, subject matter experts and cross-functional teams. The areas we work in are often uncharted territory for the company and a clean-sheet and first principles approach is required
  • Distill complex findings and build clear and compelling business cases for review by Rivian's executive team and Board of Directors
  • Evaluate potential acquisitions, investments, strategic partnerships and other external opportunities from a qualitative and quantitative perspective
  • Manage deal processes from end to end, including being the relationship owner, negotiator and external face of Rivian in significant partner relationships
  • Drive deal diligence, integration planning, documentation and implementation
  • Manage post-close integration planning and execution
  • Do all of the above independently, drawing on your past experiences and strong conceptual thinking to determine solutions to net new questions

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of work experience in a combination of corporate development/integration, strategy, management consulting, investment banking and/or other related fields, including at least 3 years of experience in a corporate development role inside a company
  • Strong financial, research and analytical skills with ability to assimilate data, extract insights, and make informed recommendations with conviction
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail - we are responsible for everything
  • Ability to problem solve and proactively project manage numerous workstreams with competing timelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey complex ideas in plain English to senior management and the board
  • A keen interest in understanding industry trends and competitive dynamics
  • A self-starter mentality with the ability to work autonomously to drive projects to completion
