Job summary

Yahoo is seeking a Director of Corporate Accounting to lead our global personnel accounting functions, including payroll, benefits, long-term incentives, and restructuring. You will mentor a team of three accounting professionals, partnering with FP&A, HR, Legal, Procurement, and Finance Systems to ensure accurate financial reporting under US GAAP and SOX.

Qualifications

• CPA license required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in a large public company.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Experience with payroll, benefits, accrual accounting, and capitalized labor.
• Experience with fixed assets related to capitalized labor.
• Experience with Oracle Financials or a comparable ERP.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and close activities for personnel accounting, including payroll, benefits, long-term incentives, restructuring, and capitalized labor.
• Oversee the annual capitalized labor submission process for large-volume, high-value projects.
• Review internal software capitalization to ensure policy compliance.
• Establish and maintain controls for timely and accurate close and reporting of capitalized labor.
• Facilitate Capital Labor Committee meetings and executive reviews of capitalization requests.
• Apply technical accounting guidance to complex transactions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a three-person accounting team.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close in alignment with U.S. GAAP, SOX, and policies.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, variances, and supporting docs.
