Job Description

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is hiring experience engineering leader to lead Automation, Tooling, and AI Platform Engineering. This role will build the platforms, developer tools, and intelligent automation that improve operational reliability, engineering velocity, and customer outcomes at scale. The leader in this role owns the strategy, delivery, and operational health of the Platforms for Network Tools and Applications organization. The organization provides the shared OCI infrastructure, workflow automation platforms, AI execution capabilities, and high-impact software tools that Physical Networking teams use to operate OCI networks safely and at scale. The role leads a distributed engineering organization and works closely with GNOC, NRE, Network Design, GNE, Special Footprints, Security, and OCI platform partners. The leader will convert operational needs into a focused portfolio, build durable platforms that partner teams can use independently, and ensure that critical tooling reaches production across OC1 and restricted realms.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the technical and investment strategy for shared cloud infrastructure, automation, tooling, data platforms, and AI-enabled operational capabilities for Physical Networking.

Lead managers and senior engineers across platform and software portfolios. Establish clear ownership, execution discipline, and a strong engineering culture across a geographically distributed team.

Deliver a shared OCI hosting model with standard tenancies across realms, access controls, deployment automation, containerization, monitoring, backup and recovery, and production-readiness requirements for partner applications.

Build and operate a central AI execution platform with reusable skills, connectors, service accounts, event triggers, scheduling, agent orchestration, governance, and cost visibility. Guide its evolution from pilot capabilities to a production service.

Expand workflow engine as service ( from a locally run workflow tool into a cloud-hosted, self-service service available across Physical Networking realms. Prioritize platform features and onboarding rather than building customer-specific workflows for every team.

Own a prioritized software and tooling portfolio with partner teams. Direct investments toward high-value outcomes such as vendor maintenance automation, planned TOR replacement coordination, restricted regions tooling parity, and telemetry analytics.

Build operating mechanisms for intake, prioritization, architecture review, production readiness, adoption, support, and lifecycle management. Use service and business metrics to make tradeoffs visible and guide investment decisions.

Partner with IAM, Security, OCI infrastructure, Network Monitoring, Poseidon, and other AI initiatives to resolve dependencies and ensure secure, scalable, multi-realm delivery.

Communicate roadmap progress, resource needs, risks, and decisions clearly to senior leaders and partner organizations. Make staffing plans that balance committed deliveries, platform investment, and operational support.

What Success Looks Like

Partner-owned applications can onboard to a reliable shared OCI platform without each team recreating infrastructure, security, or deployment patterns.

Physical Networking teams use a governed AI platform and self-service workflow service to automate repeatable operational work, with appropriate access controls, scheduling, observability, and cost management.

Tooling investments show measurable improvements in engineering hours saved, change-review quality, operational traceability, and risk reduction.

OC1 capabilities are extended to DRCC, Government, and Sovereign realms wherever practical, and realm-specific gaps are tracked to closure.

The organization has clear portfolio choices, dependable delivery commitments, and the architecture and talent needed to operate critical services in production.

Required Qualifications

Extensive experience leading software, platform, cloud infrastructure, automation, or developer productivity organizations, including leadership of managers and senior technical leaders.

Strong record of defining strategy and delivering multi-quarter platform or product roadmaps that serve multiple engineering customers.

Deep technical judgment across cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, APIs, CI/CD, observability, reliability engineering, identity and access management, and secure service operations.

Experience building production automation or workflow platforms that balance self-service adoption with governance, reliability, and supportability.

Ability to lead AI-enabled engineering initiatives, including LLM integration, agent orchestration, evaluation, security controls, and operational cost management.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize a portfolio, manage dependencies, develop talent, and communicate clearly with senior technical and business leaders.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating services across multiple cloud regions, realms, or regulated environments.

Experience with Kubernetes, OCI services, service onboarding, and platform migration from local or team-owned tooling to managed cloud services.

Experience with agentic AI platforms, skills or tool catalogs, connectors, service accounts, event-driven systems, and LLMOps practices.

Experience in networking, network operations, change management, or large-scale infrastructure operations.

Experience leading organizations that combine platform engineering, product delivery, and operational support responsibilities.
