Job summary

Educational Alliance in New York is seeking a Director of Community Initiatives & Services to lead a portfolio of strategic programs across centers, focusing on community impact, public benefits access, Medicaid and social care, and economic mobility.

Reporting to EVP & CPO, you will partner with executives and departments to strengthen services, analyze data, and develop policy-informed initiatives, while mentoring staff and guiding partnerships that advance the organization's mission.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit or related field.
• Experience leading complex initiatives spanning programs, departments, or external partners.
• Strong understanding of public policy and the nonprofit landscape affecting community-based organizations.
• Experience using research, data, and analysis to inform strategy and decision-making.
• Ability to build effective relationships with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic initiatives across programs, centers, or organizational functions.
• Develop and guide Community Impact strategies related to public benefits, Medicaid, social care, economic mobility, and service access.
• Collaborate with Executive Directors and leaders to strengthen and connect programs and services.
• Provide research, analysis, and recommendations to support organizational decision-making and new initiative development.
• Supervise, coach, and develop assigned staff.
• Monitor federal, state, and local policy, funding, and reimbursement developments and assess implications.
