Job summary

The Collaborative Firm, a multidisciplinary professional services firm in Atlanta, seeks a Director of Communications & Engagement to lead public engagement for transit, infrastructure, and development projects. You will shape outreach, manage stakeholders, and guide content development across teams.

You will develop strategies, oversee deliverables, and coordinate marketing support while aligning engagement with KPIs and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, PR, Urban Planning, or related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in public engagement and communications.
• Exceptional writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams and projects.
• Proficiency in MS Office, survey platforms, and virtual meeting tools.
• Knowledge of metro Atlanta and local government landscape is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead public engagement strategies aligned with project goals and community needs.
• Plan and facilitate in‑person and virtual public meetings, charrettes, and sessions.
• Serve as liaison to the public, advocacy groups, and community leaders.
• Develop inclusive, culturally responsive outreach approaches.
• Coordinate marketing materials—flyers, FAQs, presentations, websites, social media.
• Translate technical content for general audiences; report findings.
• Attend events to solicit new business and support grant/regulatory work.
• Manage firm Communications & Engagement staff and project deliverables.
