Job description

Olema Oncology is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to transforming the standard of care and improving outcomes for patients living with breast cancer and beyond. It’s an exciting time to be part of Team Olema, with our transformation into a fully integrated oncology company well underway, top-line data from our lead program expected later this year, and our first potential commercial launch on the horizon.

Our lead product candidate, palazestrant, is a novel, orally available complete estrogen receptor antagonist (CERAN) and selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD) currently in two pivotal Phase 3 clinical trials. We expect top-line data from OPERA-01, our ongoing Phase 3 trial of palazestrant as a monotherapy in patients with second- or third-line ER+/HER2- metastatic breast cancer (MBC), in the fall which, if successful, could lead to our first potential approval and commercial launch in 2027. OPERA-02, our Phase 3 trial of palazestrant in combination with ribociblib in patients with frontline ER+/HER2- MBC, is enrolling patients. Together with its mechanism of action, pharmacokinetic properties, and the potential to demonstrate activity in both ESR1 wild-type and mutant tumors, palazestrant has the potential to transform the metastatic breast cancer treatment paradigm and access a $15 billion global market opportunity.

Our follow-on product candidate, OP-3136, is a potent KAT6 inhibitor with the potential to generate further value and meaningfully impact the metastatic breast cancer treatment landscape – particularly in combination with palazestrant. We recently reported encouraging Phase 1 monotherapy data from this program across multiple solid tumor types and are advancing patient enrollment in the ongoing combination arms in MBC.

Aspiring to transform the metastatic treatment paradigm is an ambitious endeavor that requires a resolute approach to developing better therapies and a passionate team dedicated to helping the patients we serve feel better, longer. We possess a deep commitment to our shared purpose, the sustained pursuit of excellence, cultivating the courage required to advance our programs, drive to succeed, and a collective capacity for adaptability through learning, growth, and evolution. Team Olema is made up of nimble self-starters who bring consistency in their quest for the extraordinary every single day.

If you’re ready to be part of a tenacious, courageous, agile, and growing team, join us in making a profound impact, together – forour patients, for your career, and for what’s beyond .

About the Role >>> Director, Insights and Analytics

Olema Oncology is seeking a Director, Commercial Insights and Analytics to build and lead an integrated insights capability supporting commercial strategy, launch readiness, and lifecycle planning. The role reports to the SVP, Commercial Strategy and Operations.

The Director of Insights and Analytics will serve as a strategic thought partner to Commercial leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, bringing together primary market research, forecasting, and competitive intelligence, to address Olema’s most important business questions.

This individual will develop a deep understanding of customers, patients, and competitors, and translate that understanding into clear implications and recommendations for the business. The role will be responsible for ensuring that Olema has the right insights at the right time to inform decisions ranging from product strategy and launch planning to customer engagement, market development, and investment prioritization.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role for a leader who is comfortable framing ambiguous business questions, designing research and analytical approaches, pressure-testing assumptions, and translating disparate information into executive-ready recommendations.

This role will be based out of either our San Francisco or Boston offices and will require approximately 20% travel.

Integrated Insights & Strategic Decision Support
  • Serve as the lead insights thought partner to Commercial leadership, identifying the critical questions, risks, and opportunities that should inform strategy and execution.
  • Lead an integrated insights planning process and synthesize primary research, secondary data, competitive intelligence, epidemiology, and market developments into a cohesive market perspective.
  • Translate insights into clear implications and recommendations, identifying priority knowledge gaps and the appropriate approach to address them.
Primary Market Research & Customer Insights
  • Own the primary market research strategy and annual research plan supporting Olema’s portfolio and commercialization priorities.
  • Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research to generate insights into unmet needs, treatment decisions, product perceptions, adoption barriers, and market opportunities.
Forecasting & Market Assessment
  • Lead the development, refinement, and governance of patient-based commercial forecasts for Olema’s late-stage portfolio, incorporating epidemiology, patient flow, market research, competitive dynamics, access assumptions, analogs, and clinical and regulatory events.
  • Develop and communicate scenario-based forecasts to support long-range planning, portfolio prioritization, lifecycle strategy, and business development assessments.
Competitive Intelligence & Market Foresight
  • Lead commercial competitive intelligence for Olema’s priority disease areas, maintaining an integrated view of competitors, emerging mechanisms, and evolving treatment paradigms.
  • Lead synthesis around major congresses, data readouts, regulatory events, and other high-impact milestones.
Launch Readiness & Performance Insights
  • Define the strategic measurement framework for launch, including KPIs and leading indicators spanning patient dynamics, customer engagement, access, adoption, and market evolution.
  • Partner with analytical colleagues to ensure required data, reporting, and measurement capabilities are in place.
  • Lead interpretation of launch performance, integrating quantitative signals with primary research, field insights, and competitive context to identify drivers and recommended actions.

Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive responsibility in biopharmaceutical market research, insights, forecasting, competitive intelligence, commercial strategy, management consulting, or related disciplines.
  • Forward-looking approach to insights generation, including the use of AI-enabled tools, automation, and other modern research methodologies to increase the speed, scale, and quality of market research and strategic insights.
