Job summary

SPX Cooling Technologies is seeking a Director of R&D to lead engineering for coil heat exchanger products across HVAC, refrigeration, and industrial applications. You will guide design, development, and certification programs while aligning with business priorities and customer expectations.

You will manage engineering teams, partner with manufacturing, sourcing, product management, and sales, and drive cross-functional collaboration for successful commercialization and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 12–15 years of progressive engineering experience.
• Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring.
• Strong heat transfer and coil product design experience.
• Knowledge of ASME, UL, ASHRAE, AHRI codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership and resource management.
• Develop a multi-year certification roadmap aligned with strategy.
• Lead engineers and designers supporting coil products.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Product Management.
• Interface with customers on technical performance and requirements.
• Drive cross-functional projects to commercialization and improvement.
