Job summary

IBM Software is driving real-time, cloud-native data processing and AI-powered solutions. This engineering leader role oversees Confluent's Kafka platform, including Cloud Brokers, Networking and Security, with responsibility for operating our cloud platform at scale and steering architectural direction across global teams.

You will hire, mentor, and deliver high-impact initiatives, pushing for innovative features, reliability, and performance in a rapidly evolving data infrastructure

Qualifications

• 3+ years of second-level engineering management experience leading productive, high-functioning teams.
• Experience with running large stateful data systems in the cloud.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development.
• A track record of shipping features and meeting deadlines consistently.
• Ability to hire, motivate engineers, coach/mentoring, and manage performance.
• Sense of urgency and prioritization skills.

• Lead a highly productive, global team of software engineers and engineering leaders.
• Drive the long-term direction and strategy of Confluent and Kafka, with internal stakeholders.
• Create competitive advantages for Confluent and Kafka through technical innovation.
