Job summary

IBM in San Diego seeks an engineering leader to guide the Confluent Kafka platform initiatives, overseeing the Cloud Brokers, Networking and Security teams. You will drive the long-term vision, accelerate shipping of features, and partner with stakeholders to align priorities with business goals.

You will hire top engineers, set design standards, and raise the team’s operational maturity while delivering world-class, low-latency data processing capabilities at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of second-level engineering management experience.
• Experience with running large stateful data systems in the cloud.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development.
• Great track record of shipping features and meeting deadlines.
• Sense of urgency and prioritization skills.
• Ability to hire, coach and manage performance of engineers.
