Job description

Summary:

In this role, you will collaborate with organizational leaders to leverage cross-functional initiatives and drive strategic decision-making at the highest levels. You will ensure the integrity, availability, and security of cloud infrastructure while utilizing data-driven insights from our data and digital business units to optimize operational efficiency and inform strategic decisions. As a player/coach, you will provide guidance and support to foster a culture of shared ownership, contributing to projects, products, applications, and issue resolution to achieve exceptional results.

Responsibilities:

  1. Define and lead Vizient’s enterprise cloud adoption strategy in collaboration with senior leadership, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
  2. Establish, enforce, and improve standards, policies, and procedures governing cloud and legacy infrastructure lifecycle.
  3. Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of cloud engineers and architects, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning.
  4. Provide hands-on leadership in staff coaching and professional development, ensuring growth and skills alignment with emerging cloud technologies.
  5. Promote an inclusive, transparent, and collaborative work environment, modeling leadership behaviors that support team cohesion and engagement.
  6. Oversee evaluation, selection, and implementation of cloud-native and legacy infrastructure solutions, ensuring security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  7. Collaborate with finance and leadership to project and manage total cost of ownership for cloud platforms, including capital and operational expenditures.
  8. Partner with vendors and service providers to leverage external expertise, optimize costs, and align with Vizient’s data management and platform modernization strategies.
  9. Manage relationships with cloud service providers and infrastructure partners to ensure accountability, service level performance, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  10. Continuously assess the cloud infrastructure landscape to identify opportunities for innovation, risk mitigation, and operational resilience.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams required.
  • 7+ years of experience with data center technologies required.
  • Experience with computer networking technologies (preferred).
  • Experience with database technologies (MSSQL, Oracle, MariaDB) (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure (preferred).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Estimated Hiring Range:

The current salary range for this role is $117,600 to $206,000, with incentive eligibility. Compensation considers skills, experience, and organizational needs, with geographic factors potentially influencing the range. Vizient offers a comprehensive benefits plan, viewable at our careers page.
