Job description

At Slalom, we blend personal connection with global scale to transform how organizations redefine possibilities, shape the future, and achieve their goals. Our mission is to maximize the value of the technology and software our clients create through efficient, high-quality, and consistent service, incorporating AI tools and outcome-focused strategies across the product lifecycle.

As a senior leader within our Cloud‑Build capability in the Americas, you will operate as part of a broader go‑to‑market leadership network. The role drives sales, delivery, and client outcomes across product and cloud engineering, supporting clients as they build, scale, and operate digital products and platforms. A requirement of this role is residency within the assigned market.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will join a Build & Cloud Go-to-Market team aligned to the Amazon account. You will be responsible for building a high‑performing go‑to‑market function and owning the growth strategy for Slalom’s Build & Cloud offerings, spanning modern application engineering, AWS architecture, platform engineering, and DevOps. You’ll cultivate an inclusive, entrepreneurial culture that attracts and retains top engineering and cloud talent, and position Slalom as a trusted partner across Amazon organizations.

This is a uniquely positioned leadership role where you will translate Slalom’s national Build & Cloud vision into local impact by connecting architecture, delivery excellence, and business outcomes. You’ll collaborate with Slalom client partners and Amazon partner teams to identify high‑impact opportunities, shape solution approaches, drive sales and revenue growth, and elevate our go‑to‑market presence.

Slalom’s Build & Cloud capability helps build, modernize, and scale digital products and platforms by combining strong software engineering with cloud‑native architecture, AI‑accelerated engineering practices, and operational excellence. We help clients accelerate delivery, improve reliability and security, reduce operational friction, and create durable platforms that enable faster innovation.

Capability Vision and Strategy
  • Tailor regional capability strategies to the Amazon account, accounting for diverse business unit needs, architecture patterns, and maturity across organizations.
  • Define and drive a Build & Cloud growth strategy focused on AWS architectures, modern application development, platform engineering, and cloud modernization outcomes.
  • Stay current on AWS services and reference architectures and translate them into practical, outcome‑based solutions aligned to Amazon as a customer.
Delivery Management
  • Engage in billable client delivery leadership roles, driving high‑quality outcomes across modern product engineering, AI‑accelerated engineering, and AWS cloud modernization initiatives.
  • Partner with client teams to establish effective delivery mechanisms and drive measurable improvements in speed, quality, and cost.
Go‑to‑Market Approach
  • Proactively create demand by establishing yourself and your team as Build & Cloud thought leaders.
  • Partner with Marketing and Operations to design Slalom‑led events and workshops focused on Build & Cloud solutions and client outcomes.
  • Ignite awareness and generate demand for the Build & Cloud capability by engaging in campaigns, RFIs, RFPs, workshops, and POCs.
Business Development and Sales
  • Own Build & Cloud sales growth and manage the opportunity pipeline through close, driving solutions aligned to account strategy and customer needs.
  • Partner with client partners and sales executives to identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities requiring deep AWS and application architecture credibility.
  • Serve as Solution Lead / Architect in pursuits by leading architecture discovery, shaping delivery approaches, estimating, and articulating value.
  • Drive multi‑capability solutioning (e.g., Build & Cloud + Security + Data/AI) with an outcome‑based selling mindset, translating technical decisions into business value.
  • Participate in hiring, staffing, and workforce planning rhythms to ensure the Amazon account is supported with the right Build & Cloud talent (AWS architects, application engineers, platform/DevOps engineers, and AI‑accelerated engineering practitioners).
  • Partner with capability and market leadership to forecast demand, align to pipeline, and proactively build bench strength for priority pursuits and delivery needs.
People Development
  • Build and develop a small team of direct reports focused on Build & Cloud go‑to‑market and solution leadership.
  • Mentor architects and engineers to improve technical depth (AWS + application architecture) and strengthen client‑facing, consultative selling skills.
  • Provide performance feedback for capability team members supporting pursuits and delivery within the Amazon portfolio.
What You’ll Bring
  • Consulting Experience: Prior management/IT consulting experience required; experience working with Amazon (or within Amazon) strongly preferred.
  • AWS + Application Architecture Depth: Demonstrated ability to design and explain modern AWS architectures (networking, security, compute, data, integration, resilience) and application architectures (microservices, event‑driven, APIs, domain‑driven design, distributed systems).
  • Client‑Partner Selling Ability: Proven ability to partner with client partner teams to originate, shape, and close work by translating architecture into outcomes, scope, and proposals.
  • GTM Leadership: Experience building pipeline via workshops, pursuits, executive conversations, and repeatable offerings.
  • Technical Leadership & Credibility: Comfortable acting as the senior technical voice in the room by guiding architecture decisions, identifying risks, and setting engineering standards.
  • Collaboration: Strong cross‑functional partnership skills across sales, delivery, partners, and customer stakeholders.
  • External Presence: Ability to represent Slalom as a credible voice in modern engineering and AWS architecture through speaking and thought leadership.
