Job summary

Gilead Sciences Inc. is seeking a senior leader for supply chain planning and materials management in New Jersey. The role oversees production planning, purchasing, inventory control, and shipping, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with policies.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years of related experience with a BS/BA, or 10+ years with an MA/MBA, and strong leadership capabilities to coordinate across QA, Manufacturing, Engineering and Contract Administration.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience with a BS/BA; or 10+ years with an MA/MBA.
• Experience in production planning, purchasing, material control, inventory control and shipping/receiving.
• Ability to interpret and modify department policies.
• Interacts with regulatory agencies as required.

Responsibilities

• Manages planning, development, implementation, administration and budgeting of production planning, purchasing, material control, inventory control and shipping/receiving functions.
• Provides department management with coordination of activities and issue resolution related to production planning, procurement, and material management.
• Implements and maintains material control systems, policies, processes ensuring timely flow of approved materials.
• Coordinates interdepartmental activity with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering and Contract Administration.
• Reviews and approves changes to controlled documents; develops new applications for the department.
• May negotiate major contracts and monitor cost, schedules and performance.

Job Description

Specific Education & Experience Requirements:

• 12+ years of relevant experience in related field and a BS or BA; or

Specific Job Responsibilities:

• Manages the planning, development, implementation, administration and budgeting of the production planning, purchasing, material control, inventory control and shipping/receiving functions.
• Provides department management with the coordination of activities and resolution of issues and potential problems related to production planning, procurement, and material management, making or recommending appropriate decisions consistent with strategic direction.
• Implements and maintains material control systems, policies, processes and procedures ensuring that a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
• Ensures that personnel, equipment, material and services are provided as needed to maintain acceptable inventory levels.
• Coordinates interdepartmental activity with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering and Contract Administration.
• Provides expertise and guidance in establishment and maintenance of the production control system.
• May serve as liaison between the company and the various governmental agencies. Directly interfaces with regulatory agencies as required.
• Coordinates interdepartmental activity with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering and Contract Administration.
• Reviews, approves and/or implements changes to controlled documents as needed.
• Develops new applications for the department, based on professional principles and theories.
• May negotiate major contracts involving large financial amounts. Monitors cost, schedules and performance aspects of major contracts.

The salary range for this position is: $191,250.00 - $247,500.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
