Job summary

Hemab Therapeutics is seeking a Director of Clinical Sciences to turn scientific insights into well-designed clinical studies and clear evidence of treatment efficacy and safety. Qualifications

• Substantial clinical science or clinical research experience in drug development.
• Experience developing clinical protocols and interpreting safety and efficacy data from interventional studies.
• Strong working knowledge of ICH-GCP, clinical study design and drug development in a regulated environment.
• Scientific judgement to interpret clinical information, literature and changing treatment approaches and apply it to study and development decisions.
• Experience working effectively with investigators, vendors and cross-functional clinical, medical and regulatory colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical science contribution to study strategy, design and execution, keeping the scientific questions and patient needs at the centre of decisions.
• Drive protocol development with the Medical Director, including amendments as emerging data or study needs require.
• Own the scientific review of clinical study data, identify discrepancies and trends, and turn emerging safety and efficacy data into clear questions and actions for the team.
• Shape study documents and plans, including informed consent forms, eCRFs, medical monitoring plans and data review plans.
• Guide sites and vendors on protocol requirements, eligibility criteria and participant management so studies are executed consistently and to the intended design.
• Partner across clinical development to analyse and interpret study results and build a clear understanding of what the data mean.
• Translate study findings for internal and external audiences alongside the Medical Director.
• Develop clinical content for regulatory documents, including investigator brochures, annual safety reports, clinical study reports and registration submissions.

Hemab is building preventative treatments for serious, underserved bleeding disorders. These are therapies designed to work with the body's own biology and stop bleeds before they start, instead of treating them after they happen. We're patient-first, science-led and clinical-stage - with a pipeline that takes different scientific approaches to different patient needs.

We went public via our 2026 IPO, and we're scaling across two homes: Cambridge, MA, USA, and Copenhagen, Denmark.

The role

As Director, Clinical Sciences, you'll help turn Hemab's science into well-designed clinical studies and clear evidence about how our treatments perform in patients. You'll take scientific ownership across protocol development, study execution and data interpretation, working closely with Medical Directors and colleagues across clinical development, regulatory and other functions.

What you'll bring to Hemab

• Substantial clinical science or clinical research experience in drug development, with direct responsibility for clinical studies.
• Experience developing clinical protocols and interpreting safety and efficacy data from interventional studies.
• A strong working knowledge of ICH-GCP, clinical study design and drug development in a regulated environment.
• The scientific judgement to interpret clinical information, literature and changing treatment approaches and apply it to study and development decisions.
• Experience working effectively with investigators, vendors and cross-functional clinical, medical and regulatory colleagues.

Nice to have

• Experience in haematology, rare disease or bleeding disorders.
• Experience contributing to development programmes through later-stage studies and registration.
• An advanced scientific or clinical degree.

Hemab is still building a lot of its own structure. Systems here tend to get created as we need them, not handed down in advance. Whoever takes this role will likely build some of their own process instead of inheriting a finished one. We work across two hubs and multiple time zones - bridging that well takes real, deliberate effort. And because we're growing quickly, priorities can shift with less notice than they would at a larger, more established company.
