Job description

At Oura, our mission is to empower every person to own their inner potential. With our award-winning Oura Ring and app, we help over 2.5 million people turn insights about sleep, activity, and readiness into healthier, more balanced lives. We believe that starts from within — by creating a culture where our team feels supported, included, and inspired to do their best work. Our values guide how we show up for each other and our community every day.

We are looking for a Director, Clinical Outcomes Research to play a key role in shaping Oura’s future products and services.

What you will do:

  • Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, you will establish and oversee clinical outcomes research strategy, including prioritization of outcomes studies (e.g., interventional studies, clinical trials, & retrospective studies)
  • Develop a clear prioritization framework for outcomes that prioritizes business returns and cost/time to market
  • Incorporate innovative approaches to outcomes measurement, including analysis of existing data sets
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Science, Data Science, Regulatory, Product, and Marketing to build collaborations with academic institutions, healthcare providers, and public health stakeholders to conduct externally validated outcomes research
  • Contribute to authoring and publishing high-impact scientific papers and white papers; represent Oura by presenting findings at conferences and scientific forums.
  • Collaborate with marketing and commercial teams to translate research findings into actionable insights for internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Foster a high-performance, evidence-driven culture
  • Hire, train, and manage a multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure scientific rigor in all deliverables

This is a remote US role.

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

  • PhD, DrPH, ScD, MD, or equivalent in Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, Public Health, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience leading health outcomes generation efforts or conducting real-world evidence research, preferably in digital health, medical devices, or biotech.
  • Proven ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals and lead interdisciplinary research teams.
  • Strong understanding of study design, statistics, and the regulatory landscape for digital health.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate scientific insights to diverse audiences.

At Oura, we care about you and your well-being. What we offer:

  • Competitive salary and equity packages
  • Health, dental, vision insurance, and mental health resources
  • An Oura Ring of your own plus employee discounts for friends & family
  • 20 days of paid time off plus 13 paid holidays plus 8 days of flexible wellness time off
  • Paid sick leave and parental leave

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates’ pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Region 1: $206,000 - $257,000
  • Region 2: $190,000 - $237,000
  • Region 3: $178,000 - $223,000

A recruiter can determine your zones/tiers based on your US location.

We are not considering candidates residing in the following states: Alaska (AK), Arkansas (AR), Delaware (DE), Iowa (IA), Mississippi (MS), Missouri (MO), Nebraska (NE), Rhode Island (RI), South Dakota (SD), Vermont (VT), West Virginia (WV), and Wisconsin (WI).
