Job summary

Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL seeks a Laboratory Director to oversee daily operations of the Clinical Laboratory and Transfusion services. You'll lead staffing, develop programs, ensure CAP/Joint Commission/CMS compliance, and coordinate fiscal/operational matters.

The role requires Florida licensure, a MT/MLS degree, and strong leadership experience. Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office are essential.

Qualifications

• Florida State licensure as a Medical Technologist (Supervisor preferred).
• BS degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences with master’s in business preferred.
• ASCP certification is preferred.
• Prior Director of Laboratory experience in acute setting preferred.
• Satisfactory completion of formal clinical laboratory training in an approved program. Minimum of three years of previous management and administrative experience is required Six or more years of recent and pertinent medical laboratory experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills required.
• Microsoft Office proficient required

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily operation and supervision of personnel in the Clinical Laboratory and Transfusion service Departments.
• Developing and implementing new programs, policies, procedures, protocols, and CAP/Joint Commission/CMS compliance as necessary.
• Coordinate and direct activities related to fiscal, operational, and technical matters.
• Manage documentation related to testing and resulting, and communication between Laboratory and ancillary/off-campus sites.
• Maintain professional interaction with hospital departments, medical staff, and the public; demonstrate service excellence.
