Job summary

Indiana University Kokomo's Division of Education seeks a leader to oversee clinical placements and licensing processes for teacher candidates. You will coordinate student teaching, manage background clearances, and lead university supervisor training across 35+ district partnerships.

The role requires collaboration with faculty, strong communication, and a strategic approach to connecting coursework with field experiences to support candidate performance.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Preferred: Master's degree in education or a related field.
• 5 years in related field (required).
• Preferred: 5 years in P-12 schools and/or higher education.
• 3 years as director of clinical experiences or licensing advisor in educator preparation.
• Experience with teacher candidates, preservice educators, practicing educators, and clinical experiences.
• Experience developing, facilitating, coaching, mentoring or supporting professional learning for teachers and university supervisors.
• Demonstrated ability to establish collaborations with school districts, partners, faculty, staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Oversees clinical placements for all School of Education programs.
• Secures and coordinates school-based field placements including student teaching.
• Manages student teaching program policies, placements and progress monitoring.
• Oversees background clearance for students in field settings.
• Represents licensing requirements and collaborates with Indiana Department of Education.
• Leads recruitment, training and support of university supervisors.
• Develops training and professional learning for supervisors and teachers.
• Monitors quality of clinical supervision, observation and evaluation across placements.
• Collaborates with faculty to strengthen coursework and field connections.
• Leads recruitment for Division of Education programs and partnerships.
