Avōq in Washington, DC seeks a seasoned government relations professional for policy research and client account support in a dynamic, inclusive firm. The role combines strategy development, team leadership, and business development with a commitment to ethical standards.

You will lead research efforts, mentor staff, and collaborate with marketing to grow opportunities for clients and the firm, while maintaining strong relationships across diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of admin/executive support/operations management experience, preferably including Hill/lobbying or public affairs setting.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
• Strong skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Positive, professional and flexible attitude.

Responsibilities

• Develop short- and long-term strategy around key client priorities and provide policy support.
• Identify industries or clients in need of engagement based on policy environment.
• Manage and delegate Research Team’s hearing coverage and deliverables.
• Supervise and mentor research team and junior staff.
• Partner with marketing to cultivate leadership and business development opportunities for the GR team.
• Prepare memos, decks, and coordinate background research for new business opportunities.
• Represent Avōq at conferences/events.
• Coordinate bipartisan activities for fundraisers and client PACS.
• Oversee increased client work and staff fly-ins as needed.
• Liaise with outside counsel to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
