Lead Risk Strategy and Claims Resolution – Join The Pasha Group as Director, Claims and Risk Management

We’re seeking an experienced Director of Claims and Risk Management to lead the strategic development and tactical execution of risk mitigation, claims handling, and select insurance programs across our enterprise. Your Role: Lead, Protect, and Optimize Risk Management

Create and implement programs that reduce liability, improve safety, and drive operational resilience.

• Claims Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of cargo, property, workers’ compensation, and liability claims assuring timely, cost-effective resolution
• Risk Mitigation Strategy: Identify risk trends and root causes through claims analysis; develop and lead mitigation initiatives across operations
• Insurance Oversight: Manage insurance provider and TPA relationships; negotiate coverage and settlements in coordination with brokers and legal counsel
• Regulatory Compliance: Monitor compliance with OSHA, DOT, and safety regulations; implement internal policies to reduce exposure
• Operational Risk Assessments: Conduct assessments for terminal, transportation, warehousing, and cargo operations to identify vulnerabilities and recommend safeguards
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior leaders to align risk and claim strategies with evolving business needs
• RMIS Oversight: Lead the enhancement, integration, and use of Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) to support analytics and reporting
• Team Leadership: Coach and develop a high-performing team of risk and claims professionals
• Executive Reporting: Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to executive leadership through clear risk metrics and trend analysis

What You Bring to the Team

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field required
• Certifications:
• TWIC preferred
• ARM, CRM, AIC, or CCP certifications preferred
• Experience:
• 10+ years in claims and risk management, including 5+ years in leadership roles
• Experience in maritime, logistics, or trucking environments preferred
• Familiarity with unionized operations and CBAs is a plus
• Skills & Knowledge:
• Deep understanding of claims resolution, transportation risks, and insurance programs
• Proven negotiation skills in high-value claims resolution
• Proficiency with RMIS tools and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication and executive presentation abilities
• Analytical thinker with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset

Zone 1: $200,000 - $230,000

This job is also eligible for participation in an Incentive Plan with a target payout based on eligible compensation and corporate/individual performance goal attainment.
Annual Incentive Opportunity: 20% of eligible compensation
