Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) seeks a Director of Community Engagement & Experiential Learning to provide strategic leadership for initiatives that advance student success and service learning. You will collaborate with academic and student affairs, community partners, and national organizations to expand high-impact learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and five (5) years of experience in higher education, civic engagement, experiential learning, leadership development, or related areas; supervisory experience and experience leading university-wide initiatives.
• Alternatively, eleven (11) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Doctoral degree in a related field with campus initiatives, leadership programs, and grant writing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, assess, and continuously improve comprehensive community engagement initiatives aligned with institutional priorities.
• Coordinate civic engagement programs and promote civic leadership and public policy engagement through student-led initiatives.
• Sustain and develop experiential learning programs in partnership with academic departments and community partners.
• Lead the Public Service Leadership Academy including curriculum development, student recruitment, and assessment of learning outcomes.
• Develop fiscal resources including grants and sponsorships to support activities.
• Manage departmental budgets for civic engagement and experiential learning programs.
• Oversee and support the Follett Student Leadership Center and leadership programs.
• Guide community service efforts including Alternative Breaks and voter engagement activities.
• Expand HIPs across the student experience and establish a database of student engagement in HIPs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
