Job summary

Jewish Federation of St. Louis seeks a Director of Civic Engagement to expand civic relationships, address antisemitism, and advance public affairs priorities across the St. Louis region.

The role requires relationship-building across government, education, business, law enforcement, interfaith, nonprofit, and civic sectors. The director will lead community engagement, program development, research, communications, and measurement, coordinating with Federation lay leaders and partners to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ten or more years in community relations, public affairs, government relations, or related fields.
• Ability to develop and sustain relationships across varied backgrounds.
• Strong project and program management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to translate issues into concise materials for leaders.
• Experience with databases, CRM, or project-management tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop tailored engagement strategies for priority stakeholders.
• Coordinate regular engagement with Federation leaders and partners.
• Support implementation of public affairs priorities and advocacy efforts.
• Monitor antisemitism and civic issues, translating trends into actions.
• Identify partnerships and educational programs with community stakeholders.
• Develop materials to support leaders and relationship managers.
• Recruit and support lay leaders as ambassadors.
