Job summary

Brigham Young University in Utah invites applications for the role of Exercise Sciences - Certification Program Director to lead development and administration of professional certification pathways aligned with NSCA and ACSM credentials, with an initial emphasis on strength and conditioning and exercise physiology.

The director will coordinate curriculum alignment, program assessment, accreditation, field experiences, and undergraduate teaching while mentoring students pursuing certifications.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, or related discipline (required by start date).
• Current NSCA CSCS certification and/or ACSM-EP or ACSM-CEP certification (required).
• Experience with professional certification preparation, curriculum development, program assessment, accreditation, and professional education.
• Excellence in university teaching, professional instruction, and student mentoring expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and administration of academic pathways for national certifications (NSCA/ACSM).
• Coordinate curriculum alignment, program assessment, and accreditation or recognition processes.
• Develop and oversee field experiences and experiential learning opportunities.
• Teach undergraduate courses in exercise prescription, strength and conditioning, and professional preparation.
• Mentor students pursuing certifications and careers in exercise science and related fields.
• Develop relationships with professional organizations, accreditation bodies, and industry partners.
• Participate in department, college, university, and professional service.
