The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center invites applications for the inaugural Director of the Center for Cancer Prevention. This role leads scientific vision, governance, and strategic priorities for a new hub dedicated to reducing cancer incidence and disparities.

The Director will champion collaborative, interdisciplinary work, secure extramural funding, mentor diverse scholars, and guide translational efforts from bench to community impact.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, DO, DrPH, PharmD, DNP, PsyD, or other terminal degree in a discipline relevant to cancer prevention.
• Eligible for appointment as a tenured Professor within the College of Medicine.
• Nationally recognized record of research excellence in cancer prevention, cancer control, epidemiology, behavioral science, public health, implementation science, risk reduction, or a related field.
• Demonstrated record of sustained extramural funding.

Responsabilités

• Develop and lead a comprehensive scientific agenda that advances understanding, prevention, and early detection of cancer across populations and healthcare settings.
• Establish the organizational infrastructure, governance, strategic priorities, and operational framework for a nationally prominent research center.
• Foster a highly collaborative scientific environment that supports groundbreaking research, large‑scale funding initiatives, and interdisciplinary partnerships.
• Build strong partnerships with communities, health systems, public health agencies, policymakers, and advocacy organizations to translate research into meaningful reductions in cancer burden.
