Job summary

The Ohio State University’s Center for Cosmology and AstroParticle Physics (CCAPP) invites applications for Academic Director. The appointee will provide direction for programmatic, administrative, and research activities, and will lead day-to-day administration in support of world-leading cosmology and astroparticle physics.

Responsibilities include guiding annual programming, budgeting, mentoring faculty and staff, fostering collaboration, and promoting CCAPP on campus and beyond.

Provide direction and leadership for the programmatic, administrative, and research activities of the Center for Cosmology and AstroParticle Physics (CCAPP). Lead the day-to-day administration, growth, and development of CCAPP, including annual programming and budget management. Provide leadership consistent with CCAPP’s goals and objectives, including advancing world-leading research in cosmology and astroparticle physics and fostering scientific collaboration, mentorship, and public engagement. Publicize and promote CCAPP both on and off campus.

Hold a tenured faculty appointment in The Ohio State University’s Department of Physics and/or Department of Astronomy; have an outstanding record of scholarly research in an appropriate field; and demonstrate the ability to effectively lead programs, budgets, and personnel.

The Center for Cosmology and AstroParticle Physics (CCAPP) in the College of the Arts and Sciences is seeking an Academic Director. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors.
