Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field is required.
  • Current or eligible licensure such as RN/APRN/PA or ARRT is required depending on service area.
  • Five years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Two or more years of clinical experience in surgical or procedural services is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains capital, operational, staffing, and materials budgets.
  • Edits and reviews departmental policies and procedures per regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in enterprise-wide selection of capital equipment and budgeting.
  • Collaborates with WVU Medicine teams on contracting/purchasing and value analysis.
  • Develops and monitors strategic plans for operation and financial performance.
  • Oversees regional imaging and cath lab operations to maximize efficiency.
  • Works with HVI leadership to drive standardization and best practices.
  • Coordinates service delivery across locations and reports to program components.

This position provides leadership and oversight to the Invasive and Non-Invasive clinical departments within the Heart and Vascular Institute. This role is responsible for maintaining financial and clinical expertise within the Heart and Vascular Institute. This role is accountable for developing and implementing new service programs, budging initiatives and ensuring all policy, procedure, and standards of practice are adhered to.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Must possess and maintain one of the following unrestricted licenses, registrations, or certifications:
  • Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

OR

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) issued by state in which services are being rendered AND
  • Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)

OR

  • Current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification AND
  • Current Physician’s Assistant License issued by the state in which services will be provided

OR

  • Registered Radiography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) AND Current Radiography License as required by state board where services will be provided:

MD: Radiographer License through Maryland Board of Physicians

OH: Radiographer License through Ohio Department of Health

PA: No state licensure required

WV: Radiography License through West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board

Experience
  • Five (5) years of Leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Two (2) or more years of clinical experience in surgical or procedural services.
Preferred Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Creates and maintains capital, operational, staffing, and materials budgets.
  • Creates, edits, and reviews all departmental policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Recommends and participates in enterprise wide selection of capital equipment/purchases and budgeting.
  • Collaborates with Allied Health/WVU Medicine team in regards to contracting/purchasing. Participates in HVI Value Analysis committee meetings on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborates with Physician/Administrative HVI leadership to develop, implement, and monitor strategic plans for operation/financial performance.
  • Oversight of regional imaging and cath lab operations, maximizing efficiency.
  • Evaluates regional resources to identify opportunities to increase and improve services for the service area.
  • Works closely with the HVI leadership team to drive standardization and best practice.
  • Works with the regional ambulatory administrator to coordinate efficient service delivery at all locations.
  • Oversees compliance to HVI protocols.
  • Plans, organizes and evaluates the delivery of patient care by empowering staff and coordinating activities between operation departments.
  • Collaborates with medical staff, ancillary support directors and other personnel in resolving issues and promoting and planning optimal patient care.
  • Establishes and ensures effective reporting and communication between program components, sites, and teams.
  • Selects, hires, manages, and evaluates the performance and effectiveness of employees and facilitate the professional development of all staff to ensure clinical practice competence.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the Human Resource function within departments.
  • Participates in the Quality Assurance committee meetings, using data for process improvements for departments
  • Collaborates with OR Management teams to facilitate coordination of HVI physician OR times/needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, walk and/or stand for long.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds and must be able to push 50 pounds.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work is performed in an Office environment.
  • Position is exposed to communicable disease.
