PRIMARY PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE

The Director, Campaign Operations, partners closely with Advancement leadership and fundraising teams to ensure Greater Twin Cities United Way’s employee giving campaign strategy and operations effectively support the organization’s annual fundraising goals. This role leads the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of employee giving campaigns, delivering resources and support to institutions (businesses, government entities, and nonprofits) that run fundraising campaigns as part of broader engagement strategies.

Through leading a team of full-time and temporary staff who support fundraisers and working in collaboration with the individual and corporate partnerships fundraising teams, the Director, Campaign, develops and advances integrated, cohesive campaign fundraising strategies designed to maximize donor engagement and revenue opportunities.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic Development and Revenue Generation (35%)

Partner with Advancement fundraising leadership to set and lead the strategic direction of employee giving campaigns, identifying and advancing fundraising and engagement opportunities that drive:

  • Revenue generation within companies through employee giving campaigns
  • Employee engagement and giving through campaign digital tools, special event fundraising and online giving platforms
  • Strong partnerships with external stakeholders through mutual benefit outcomes that bring value and ROI to both external partners and the organization

Direct processes, systems, and resources for United Way’s employee giving campaign (40%)

  • Lead a team that collaborates with Corporate Partnerships to understand partners’ fundraising goals and engagement needs, with the ability to develop and deliver compelling digital fundraising solutions that align with objectives, demonstrate value, and strengthen trust in United Way.
  • Resource the fundraising solutions we provide companies, including partnering with other teams across the organization to provide an exceptional experience for our donors.
  • Champion a unified employee giving campaign approach through consistent communication and cross-functional coordination
  • Oversee preparation for the annual campaign by ensuring fundraisers have the tools and resources needed to support employee giving campaigns, including planning meetings, materials, speakers, debriefs, and revenue collection.
  • Manage the annual campaign seasonal staffing program:In partnership with United Way staff, develop and execute training for Campaign Representatives and Impact Speakers
  • Hire and onboard seasonal staff in coordination with Human Resources and staffing agency
  • Support fundraisers in deploying seasonal staff effectively
  • Ensure timely collection of employee giving campaign donations by:
  • Partnering with the Data Analyst to manage collection processes and meet fundraising deadlines
  • Monitoring campaign projections in CRM
  • Track overall company campaign progress and status of funds collected and remitted.
  • Drive continuous process improvement by seeking opportunities for increased efficiency and/or improved quality.

  • Translate employee giving campaign strategy and vision into clear, actionable goals, ensuring the team understands how their work supports and influences Advancement fundraising initiatives and priorities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree and five-plus years’ related experience in fundraising and working with donors, business administration or related combination experience required.
  • Two-plus years of experience as a people manager with ability to delegate and direct work effectively and efficiently.
  • Knowledge and experience managing a nontangible product and the related outcomes that align with an organization’s mission (execution of a fundraising campaign).
  • Experience in meeting individually with external customers, donors preferred.
  • Ability to balance multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate strategic insights and direction effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, public speaking experience required.
  • Proficient and applied use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and accurate data entry experience required.
  • Experience with problem solving and idea generation that creates opportunities for your customer to be successful.
  • Comfortable leading through ambiguity with ability to empower the team to act and learn in uncertain and challenging situations.
  • Ability to work with and build trust and relationships with numerous internal and external stakeholders.
