Aldevron is seeking a highly ambitious and experienced Director of Business Insights and Market Intelligence to join our dynamic Global Marketing and Strategy team. This role is pivotal to strategy creation and deployment across the organization and will drive market and competitive research and analysis. The Director will also own the end-to-end process of negotiating and securing out-licensing for key technology assets. The ideal candidate has an outstanding ability to bring rigor and data to strategic decisions and has a successful track record in deal-making and maintaining strong client relationships. This person must be excited to own and drive every aspect of strategy creation – from building complex models to slide writing and storytelling.

This role is part of the Strategy team and will be fully remote. You will report to the VP of Strategy, responsible for end-to-end strategic planning across the organization.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead strategic planning, development, and deployment across Aldevron, from insight generation to strategic storytelling for executive audiences.

  • Drive primary and secondary research on markets, customers, and competitors. Own analysis to identify trends, customer dynamics, growth drivers, opportunities, and threats. Synthesize insights into recommendations and provide regular updates to leadership.

  • Create business cases for strategic initiatives, including organic and inorganic growth opportunities, technology licensing, and other potential avenues. Own and evaluate complex models based on large data sets, market analysis, forecasting, and opportunity evaluation.

  • Qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate new markets, assess competitive positioning, and conduct gap analysis to identify areas for differentiation and focused growth.

  • Lead negotiations and manage the end-to-end process of securing business deals and licensing agreements, ensuring favorable terms. Collaborate closely with legal and IP teams on transaction documents, including Confidential Data Agreements, Letters of Intent, Term Sheets, License Agreements, Collaboration Agreements, and IP Licenses.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, genetics, cell and gene therapy, biomedicine, chemistry, biology, or related fields; top-tier MBA, PhD, or other graduate degree preferred.

  • Proven experience with 9+ years leading strategic projects in the healthcare industry, including at least 3+ years at a top-tier consulting firm, driving business development from start to finish.

  • Strong analytical expertise with an ability to synthesize data into insights that inform strategic decisions. Skilled in modeling and interpreting complex data and market trends.

  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex technologies and processes related to cell and gene therapies (CGT).

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex scientific and business issues. Strong project management skills.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to travel as needed.
