Job summary

Adventist Health Lodi Memorial is seeking a strategic leader to drive community health initiatives and oversee the hospital’s Business Development Department. You will guide growth initiatives, assess new programs, and collaborate with leaders to align initiatives with the organization's mission.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and the ability to translate community needs into actionable plans while mentoring staff and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Master’s preferred.
  • Seven years of business development experience preferred.
  • Five years of leadership experience preferred in healthcare.
  • Three years in a healthcare setting preferred.

Job Summary

Identifies Healthcare needs of the community. Structures and leads the business development process and growth initiatives. Facilitates and coordinates the ongoing strategic planning process. Leads growth initiatives to produce and enhance services, programs, collaborative relationships and demonstrated results to meet the healthcare needs of the community and realize the overall organizational strategy. Oversees the hospital's Business Development Department. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Master's Degree: Preferred
  • Seven years' business development experience: Preferred
  • Five years' leadership experience: Preferred
  • Three years' experience in a healthcare setting: Preferred
Essential Functions
  • Provides leadership for the development of the Hospital’s business strategy, ensuring the successful implementation of tactical elements of business initiatives. Participates in budget planning, development, and oversight.
  • Identifies, recommends, implements, and develops growth for the hospital through new initiatives and expansion of existing programs and services. Evaluates new and/or expanded business initiatives and programs for community need, strategic fit, and financial feasibility.
  • Executes development of plans and effectively passes initiatives and programs to operations. Tracks and reports success on approved business development initiatives.
  • Oversees relationships with partners in the community in support of new business development projects.
  • Exercises independent judgment in supervising and responsibly directing assigned staff. Delegates and assigns work to personnel for effective utilization of their skills and to meet business needs. Recruits and orients new employees. Ensures all employees are sufficiently trained to carry out their duties. Creates an engaging workplace and encourages others to contribute creative and innovative approaches to achieve continuous improvement. Drives a performance culture through appraisals and other coaching. Disciplines personnel when deems appropriate.
