Job summary

DT Midstream is seeking a strategic leader to identify new business opportunities and structure development transactions in the energy sector. This role requires a proven track record closing multi-million-dollar projects and leading complex negotiations.

You will work in a fast-moving, team-oriented environment across markets in the US and Canada, with exposure to energy transition and renewables. Travel will be required, and strong financial and commercial acumen is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or economics.
  • At least ten years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with energy, renewables or energy transition projects.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel.

This leader is responsible for identifying new business opportunities and creating value in structuring development transactions. This highly visible role will require analytic, energetic, innovative, results-oriented individuals with quick and inquisitive minds. Must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of developing and closing multi-million-dollar projects. Must possess a broad range of financial and commercial skills, be capable of managing the details of complex transactions, can work within a team-oriented environment in rapidly evolving markets, and be able to handle multiple assignments. Preferred experience with energy transition and renewables.

Key Accountabilities

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, business or economics discipline
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant work experience
Other Requirements
  • Experience with an independent energy company, consulting firm, or investment bank focused on energy, development of renewable, or transitional energy projects
  • Strong analytical, planning, organization, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Effective in self-management of time with a demonstrated personal commitment to work
  • Able to identify value-creation opportunities
  • Commercial background and be familiar with all aspects of structuring commercial transactions in the energy industry and in negotiations of the related commercial and financial agreements
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experienced in valuation methodologies and financial disciplines
  • Work well as a leader of large company team, and successfully close complex energy and/or asset related contracts
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation skills and the ability to analyze and communicate complex transactions to senior management a must
  • Must be able to travel as necessary
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience or strong understanding of environmental policy and/or energy transition market fundamentals

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works primarily in a business office or other appropriate location during hybrid days, with a moderate noise level. Occasionally, this individual may visit project sites and be exposed to outside weather conditions, including cold/hot, wet and/or humid conditions, and may work near moving mechanical parts and/or machinery. Ability to travel as needed to negotiate deals and visit project sites.
