JOB DESCRIPTION:

TDK is seeking an outstanding Business Development professional with a broad-based background in Information Communications Technology (ICT), Internet of things (IOT) and/or Healthcare, to create and drive synergies across multiple TDK organizations (CMO, CTO, BCs and RHQs), technologies and product lines via partnerships, ventures, and/or M&A as we look to expand our offerings of more complete solutions for TDKs market. Knowledge of end markets and critical technologies as well as an entrepreneurial spirit to explore how to create new value-add solutions for ICT, IOT and/or Healthcare vertical markets through existing TDK technologies and, potentially, other technologies will distinguish the successful candidate.

  • Identify and track market trends that impact TDK’s growth in ICT, IOT and/or Healthcare market segment
  • Identify and create partnerships with technology leaders and/or new startups that are in line with corporate strategy to address opportunities with Systems and SW solutions.
  • Collaborate with corporate planning, Corporate Marketing and Incubation (CM&I), TDK Ventures, R&D and Business Companies to create synergies with partners for ICT, IOT and/or Healthcare market growth
  • Develop partner eco-system and new business models for System and SW related opportunities
  • Manage partnership discussions and help with potential contract negotiations for ICT, IOT and/or Healthcare systems related opportunities
  • Assist with development of long-term business strategy by working closely with CM&I including: (1) provide strategic planning input, (2) assist in market forecasting, and (3) assist in communicating strategies to executives and Board of Directors
  • Assist R&D with go-to-market strategies for ICT, IOT and/or Healthcare market segments
  • Provide interface to TDK Ventures including: (1) provide business and technical feedback on venture opportunities and (2) explore technology, product line and market synergies with target companies

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate for this position must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. The qualifications and working conditions listed below are representative of those required for the position.

  • BS in engineering or Master’s or advanced degree in engineering, Master’s Degree in business preferred
  • 15+ years industry experience in product management, business development or general management in a technology setting.
  • Strong background in technologies enabling ICT, IOT, Healthcare systems and/or broad systems engineering experience and/or education
  • Ability to lead, manage and influence across multi-disciplined, diverse geographic teams independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit to drive new business development
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to network within the organization and outside the organization
  • Thought leader with ability to create high-level presentations and shape the narratives for internal and external senior executives and stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively communicate across broad levels of people and functional roles including internal and external executives and engineering teams
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills with the ability to effectively communicate vision, insights and complex business proposals that will influence decisions and outcomes
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in multi-cultural environment across multiple geographies

TDK U.S.A. offers a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, 401(k), pension, life insurance, vacation, and 13 paid holidays.

This is a US based remote position.The starting annual base pay for this role is between 175,000 and 220,000 USD. The actual compensation package offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: geographic location, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
