Job summary

CCI Mechanical seeks an Automation Director to align field execution, engineering, and customer expectations in Salt Lake City, Utah. The role advances the company’s smart building and HVAC solutions across construction, service, and lifecycle support.

The candidate will lead automation strategy, develop a high-performance team, and drive growth with a focus on efficiency, documentation, and customer satisfaction. Regional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of experience in HVAC controls, BAS, or automation systems.
• Proven experience supporting both construction projects and service operations.
• 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls design, and BAS architecture.
• Experience with construction lifecycle: design, submittals, installation, commissioning, and turnover.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and scale CCI Mechanical’s automation and controls division across construction and service teams.
• Oversee automation scope on new construction and retrofit projects, including design coordination, submittals, installation, programming, and commissioning.
• Manage BAS/BMS service operations including maintenance, troubleshooting, retrofits, and system optimization.
• Provide technical oversight across platforms such as Johnson Controls, Tridium Niagara, Alerton, Trane, Carrier.
• Partner with sales, preconstruction, and account management to deliver value-driven automation solutions.
• Manage P&L performance for automation across construction and service lines.
