Summary:

The Finance Department at Rollins College is seeking a detail-oriented, service-driven, and strategic Director of Budget and Treasury to lead our team with clarity, steadiness, and purpose. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Finance, this role operates with a high degree of independence and is responsible for achieving key departmental goals. The Director also supervises the PCI Compliance and R-Card Coordinator and plays a critical role in managing professional accounting and financial information systems functions, including:

  • Reporting
    • Leads financial reporting and modeling to support strategic planning
    • Ensures consistency and best practices in business analysis and operations reporting across the organization.
    • Designs and maintains the department’s website.

  • Process Improvement
    • Identifies and implements improvements in financial processes, policies, and internal controls.

  • Oversees financial systems strategy, security, and integration.
  • Develops and maintain related policies and procedures.

  • Treasury Management
    • Manages banking relationships, daily cash flow, wire transfers, and bond compliance; support new debt issuance.
    • Assists with issuance of new debt.

  • R-Card and PCI
    • Supervises R-Card/PCI Coordinator
    • Ensures compliance, security, and effective fund management.
    • Assists in developing and coordinating long and short-range planning initiatives for the R-Card program.
    • Ensures PCI/DSS compliance, analyze trends, vulnerabilities, and business needs to recommend, design, and implement changes to improve security solutions.

  • Planning and Budgeting
    • Develops forecasting and budgeting models.
    • Supports departments with financial planning and budget control.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or finance, with demonstrated expertise in financial modeling and financial information systems.
  • Proven track record of progressive leadership and team management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ObtainedCPA or CPA-qualified.
  • Experience working in anonprofit environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices with strong analytical and information technology skills.
  • Experience or training in nonprofit accounting; knowledge of college environment, departments, procedures, and policies.
  • Strong capabilities with software programs including database, spreadsheet, word processing, e-mail and Internet applications; experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze information and make judgment decisions and to understand and interpret complex oral and written instructions.
  • Strong communication, customer service, public speaking, and consulting skills.
  • Campus-based, front-facing position, working in an office environment.
  • Work requires visual strain and the use of a computer.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as appropriate for business needs.
