Job summary
LJA Transportation seeks a Director to lead and grow our Bridge Inspection Program. You will guide project teams, support business development, and ensure NBIS compliance and technical excellence for public agency contracts.
This role emphasizes leadership, safety culture, resource optimization, and staff mentoring. Based in Austin, TX, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams while advancing LJA's employee-owned culture and high‑quality bridge inspection services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and P.E. in Texas are required.
- NBIS experience with bridge inspection and SNBI familiarity is required or desired.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills with cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical resource for bridge inspections.
- Establish inspect procedures and quality control for bridge inspections.
- Develop, train, and lead inspection staff.
- Support bridge inspection practice and business development.
- May serve as Project Manager for contracts and pursuits.
- Manage, schedule and perform bridge inspections.
- Prepare and review bridge inspection reports.
- Perform or check load ratings.
- Support strategic plans and business plans implementation.
