Job summary

LJA is seeking a Director of Transportation (Bridge Inspection) in Houston, TX to lead and grow LJA’s Bridge Inspection Program. You will collaborate with a team to support business development, marketing, and strategic project management for public agencies, while mentoring staff and ensuring safety and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas.
• Qualified Bridge Inspection Team Lead in the State of Texas.
• 12+ years of progressive structural engineering experience.
• 7+ years of NBIS bridge inspection experience; Texas experience preferred.
• Current NBIS requirements to serve as a Qualified Team Lead.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical resource for bridge inspections.
• Establish, document, and implement bridge inspection procedures and QC practices.
• Develop, train, and lead inspection staff.
• Support LJA’s bridge inspection practice.
• May serve as Project Manager for identified contracts and pursuits.
• Manage, schedule and perform bridge inspections.
• Prepare and review bridge inspection reports.
