OnBoard is seeking a Director of Brand to lead strategy, narrative, and creative expression for OnBoard and Scribe. You will shape how the brands appear in-market and drive expression across channels, collaborating with executives to expand into new markets.
You will manage brand storytelling, AI-enabled workflows, and peer-to-peer perception to accelerate growth, with accountability for awareness, engagement, and leadership positioning.
OnBoardbuilds the software that boardsof directorsrun on — theAI-forwardplatform for preparing, running, and following up on the meetings where organizations make their biggest decisions. Thousands of boards start every meeting with us, and witheScribewe do the same for city councils and government bodies across North America.
We are expanding ourmarkets, into segments held by the biggest names inthe space. We are David walking into a field of Goliaths — and we like ourodds, becausewe are coming in with momentum,a productbuyers get excited about, and alevel of innovationincumbentscan'tmatch.
The buyer journey itself is changing, too. More of it now runs through AI layers — buyers ask an LLM about their options before they ever visit a website. We see Brand as having a vital place in that new journey: human recommendations andperceptionmatter as much as what the models say about us and whowe'refor, and this role shapes both.
At its core, the role demands astrategist and astoryteller —someone who thinks a few steps ahead, someone who spots the seed ofa great storyandturns it into differentiated narratives for the brand. You are accountable for measurable brand outcomes: awareness, engagement, share of voice, and thought leadership reach that support the company's expansion into new markets.
This is what success looks like. How you get there is largely upto you —that'swhywe'rehiring a director.
You willshapea brand strategy, story, and visual and verbal identity forOnBoardandeScribethat creates excitement and alignment. The real test is external: the market responds and starts mimicking our language back to us.
As we enter new segments, awareness, credibility, and preference with those buyers becomekey for brand to own. You will figure out how the company earns that — through research into how these buyers discover and judge vendors, and through thestrategies and tacticalprograms that put usoutin front.
The strongest signal a brand in this market can earn is a director telling a fellow board,"youshould be onOnBoard." You will build theperceptionand the peer-to-peer presence that makeOnBoardthe platform directors recommend to the boards theyjoinand the boards their peers sit on.
Our leaders have stories worth hearing. Your teamwillshape that — building their presence on LinkedIn and beyond, and extending it through webinars, video, bylines, and stages, with audience growth you can point to.
Becausemore of the buyer journey now runs through AI layers, you will partner withour SEO and GEO teamtoevaluate and iterate what LLMs say about our brand and who we’re for— so when a buyer asks an LLM about board management, not only do we show up,the right brand narrativeappears, too.
Customer outcomes, product moments, research, market shifts — the raw material is all around us. You will own Brand's content strategy inside the marketing team's shared roadmap and turn that raw material into narratives that carry across channels and formats.
Youown intake, prioritization, and the brand budget. That means pressure-testingrequestsagainst goals, outcomes, and tradeoffs — and having the judgment and the standing to reshape or decline work thatwon'treturn value.
Youwork with your leaders toestablishKPIs andbaselines, andshow up in leadership forums with a clear point of view and numbers behind it. And you will coach your people through clear goals, honest feedback, and stretch assignments.
