University of the District of Columbia seeks a Director of Board Operations to provide strategic leadership over governance for the Board of Trustees. This role reports to the President and serves as the main liaison among the President, Board Chair, Trustees, and university leaders to ensure effective governance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; governance or related leadership experience preferred.
• Experience managing complex meetings, executive communications, official records, budgets, and sensitive matters.
• Knowledge of public-sector governance, transparency, public meeting, compliance, and records-management requirements.

Responsabilités

• Direct governance operations, governance calendar, meetings, agendas, materials, and records.
• Serve as liaison between Board of Trustees and University leadership; coordinate responses and governance info.
• Develop, review, distribute, and maintain official governance documents and minutes.
• Ensure compliance with bylaws, policies, and laws; monitor governance practices with GC and offices.
• Develop systems to track board actions, directives, and follow-up obligations.
• Coordinate onboarding for new Trustees and support governance education and events.
• Manage board operating budget, expenditures, travel, and professional development.
• Prepare executive-level reports and briefings; advise President on governance issues.
• Perform other duties to support Office of the President and University.
