Job summary

Eupraxia Pharmaceuticals seeks a dynamic Director of Intellectual Property to manage critical IP matters, counsel senior leaders, and drive patent portfolio strategy across global programs. The role requires deep life sciences expertise, leadership in patent law practice, and collaboration with R&D, regulatory, and business teams.

The candidate will coordinate outside IP counsel, perform competitive intelligence, and support IP due diligence for transactions, while maintaining the IP asset

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of intellectual property/patent law experience, including biotech, pharma or life sciences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Strong ability to influence leadership in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the global patent strategy across product candidates and platform technologies.
• Direct outside counsel on drafting, filing and prosecuting worldwide patent applications.
• Maintain IP asset registers and portfolio maps by molecule, indication, formulation, and process.
• Support due diligence for financing, licensing, collaboration, and sponsored research agreements.
• Oversee IP budgets and manage external patent firms across jurisdictions.
