Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem seeks a System Director of Benefits to lead the development, implementation, and management of the organization’s health, welfare, and wellness programs. You will oversee vendor relationships, budgeting, and benefits communication in collaboration with an external consultant.

The role emphasizes compliance with ERISA, COBRA, ACA, and related laws, while guiding team members and leaders through benefits questions and changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
• Certification strongly preferred (e.g., CEBS, CBP, SHRM-SCP).
• 7–10 years of experience in employee benefits management, including leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the organization's benefits strategy aligned with mission and values.
• Oversee administration of Team Member benefit programs (health, dental, vision, life, disability, leave).
• Manage vendor relationships with benefits vendors and third-party administrators.
• Develop and manage the benefits budget and cost-control measures.
• Create and deliver communication strategies to educate Team Members about benefits options.
