  • Operationalize Carta’s portfolio company data collections to better serve investors: How do we gather data from portfolio companies to allow investors to make faster/better decisions?
  • Develop account management/support strategies for our fund clients: How can we make sure our fund customers are getting the most out of Carta’s portfolio management and reporting tools?
  • Support Carta’s current fund valuation strategy and assisting our product team to develop the next generation of fund valuation tools: How can we build tools that allow investors to report valuations faster, more accurately, and with a higher degree of transparency?
  • Support Carta financial reporting tools for investors: How can we make financial audits faster and more streamlined for investors?
  • Deliver fast and accurate waterfall tools for investors: How can we move investors out of current tools/models to Carta more integrated ERP modeling tools?

The Team You'll Work With

You’ll be joining our Auditable Reporting Services team, overseeing the account management and support of Carta’s portfolio modeling, portfolio management and reporting platform (Tactyc). Additional responsibilities include oversight of Carta's fund valuation practice, fund financial reporting teams, and waterfall tooling for VC and PE firms.

Your clients are the most talented venture capitalists, fund managers and dealmakers in the world. You will help them realize their ambitions of supporting the companies of tomorrow through our next-gen investment stack (including legals, vehicle formation, banking, investor onboarding and much more).

You will also be collaborating with our wider Carta accounting, fund administration and compliance teams on relevant valuation/financial reporting issues that relate to Carta’s products and services.

About You

Must have experience supporting operations, account management, valuation, financial reporting, and audit.

  • Proven track record of building, leading, and retaining high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop leaders at all levels.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a history of driving strong employee engagement and performance outcomes.
  • Ability to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence

  • Extensive experience creating and managing operational metrics, KPIs, and performance measurement systems.
  • Ability to design and implement operational processes that scale and improve efficiency.
  • Demonstrated understanding of which operational levers most effectively drive business performance and outcomes.
  • Strong background in continuous improvement methodologies and operational best practices.

Strategic Thinking And Business Integration

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to connect operational execution to broader business goals.
  • Deep understanding of how ARS products and services integrate with, support, and drive the larger business ecosystem.
  • Experience translating corporate strategy into executable operational plans.

Technical And Industry Expertise

  • Strong background in valuation methodologies, particularly ASC 820 fair value measurement standards.
  • Hands-on experience with valuation processes for venture capital and private equity funds.
  • Deep existing relationships with major audit firms, particularly in the VC and PE sectors.
  • Ability to navigate audit requirements and build processes that meet compliance and reporting standards.

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant operational leadership experience, preferably in finance, professional services, or technology-enabled businesses.
  • High proficiency in operational analytics, financial reporting, and business intelligence tools.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with finance, product, client services, and executive teams.

Salary

Benefits

Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our expected cash compensation range for this role is:

$213,750.00 - $285,000.00 in Seattle, WA

$225,000.00 - $300,000.00 in San Francisco, CA & New York, NY

Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
