The Pitt Greensburg Athletics Department is a proud member of the NCAA Division III level. The Department of Athletics consists of 13 varsity athletic
men’s and women’s teams that compete in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC).

Job Summary

Directs the Athletic program at a regional campus. Leads team and oversees budgets, planning, fundraising, marketing, media contract negotiations, student-athlete development, and facilities. Ensures compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.

Essential Functions

The Director Athletics and Regional Sports job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supervising staff, including hiring, distributing and reviewing work, performance reviews and documenting disciplinary actions and other personnel administration;
  • Managing work schedules and approving timecards;
  • Providing professional development opportunities;
  • Directing and managing the Athletic program and programming;
  • Administering campus recreational sports and campus fitness center;
  • Partnering with coaches and athletic training staff to establish schedules, games, travel arrangements, events, including regular season and tournament matches;
  • Ensuring compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) conference, and University rules and regulations;
  • Reviewing and approving all athletic business operations;
  • Preparing departmental and fundraising budgets and reconciling the accounts on a monthly basis;
  • Developing effective media and community relations and negotiating media contracts;
  • Promoting strategies for marketing athletics programs to generate revenues;
  • Overseeing and contributing to fundraising opportunities and outreach activities;
  • Contributing to the overall success of the campus' athletics programs by enriching student athlete development, success and overall experience.

Physical Effort

While in the office, the position is primarily sedentary, but will require attending on-campus events and meetings at various campus locations.

The position requires a considerable amount of nontraditional work hours due to practice schedules, games and away travel. Physical exertion is required at various times.

Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with weekend and evening hours as needed
