Palvella Therapeutics, a company focused on rare genetic skin diseases, is seeking an Associate Director/Director, Field Marketing to lead field strategies for the QTORIN rapamycin launch in microcystic lymphatic malformation (mLM). Qualifications

  • 10 years of commercial experience in biotech or pharma.
  • Experience as field marketer/thought leader liaison, engaging rare disease thought leaders in a commercial context, with experience building/managing speaker bureaus and executing congress strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the rare disease commercialization landscape, including diagnosis complexity, referral dynamics, and patient advocacy.
  • Proven ability to translate complex scientific and clinical insights into clear, innovative, and actionable commercial strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with strong execution focus and executive presence, and the ability to influence without authority.
  • Strong cross-functional skills with the ability to appropriately share information to increase customer satisfaction and align stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, map, and cultivate relationships with national, regional, and local thought leader MDs and APPs across dermatology, hematology-oncology, and related specialties to inform brand strategy and medical/commercial planning.
  • Bridge field insights to the brand team to inform strategy, and communicate the 'why' to the field team.
  • Execute end-to-end congress planning and execution, including booth presence, satellite symposia, advisory interactions, and clinician engagement at major medical meetings; coordinate with medical affairs, marketing, and market access.
  • Collaborate with field marketing and HQ marketing to build a speaker bureau, including selection criteria, onboarding, training to approved materials, and ongoing evaluation.
  • Ensure field marketing activities comply with OIG, PhRMA Code, FDA regulations, and company policies.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Field Marketing, the (Associate) Director of Field Marketing will contribute to the launch of QTORIN™ rapamycin in microcystic lymphatic malformation (mLM), a rare vascular malformation presenting in the skin.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a rare disease where the marketplace was initially not well understood and can demonstrate how they personally made an impact. A strong launch track record and a demonstrated ability to establish relationships with physicians are required.

Key Responsibilities:

Thought Leader Engagement and Field Insights

  • Identify, map, and cultivate relationships with national, regional, and local thought leader MDs and APPs across dermatology, hematology-oncology, and related specialties to facilitate meaningful, insight-generating dialogue that informs brand strategy and medical/commercial planning.
  • Serve as a bridge, providing field insights to the brand team to inform strategy, and communicating the "why" to the field team.

Congress Strategy and Speaker Bureau Development

  • Execute end-to-end congress planning and execution, including booth presence, satellite symposia, advisory interactions, and clinician engagement at major medical meetings; ensure appropriate and compliant information sharing with medical affairs, marketing, and market access to ensure a coordinated, high-impact field and congress presence that is not duplicative.
  • Collaborate within field marketing and with the HQ marketing team to build a speaker bureau from the ground up, including criteria for selection, onboarding programs, training to approved materials, and ongoing performance evaluation.

Compliance and Launch Readiness

  • Ensure all field marketing activities are executed in strict accordance with OIG guidelines, PhRMA Code, FDA regulations, and company policies.
  • Be part of a team culture with operating norms, positive attitude, and performance standards that reflect urgency and a launch-ready mindset.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 10 years of commercial experience in biotech or pharma.
  • Prior work as a field marketer/thought leader liaison, engaging rare disease thought leaders in a commercial context, with experience building/managing speaker bureaus and executing congress strategies.

Travel

This role is field-based with regular travel, including on weekends, to represent Palvella at medical meetings, as well as trips to the company’s HQ in suburban Philadelphia (Wayne, PA). Up to 75% travel may be required.
