Job description

Location: Columbus, OH; Cincinnati, OH; Richmond, VA; or Dallas, TX

Company: TriplePoint

Build What Comes Next

At TriplePoint, we’re building the infrastructure that powers what comes next.

TriplePoint is an integrated building infrastructure services and modular manufacturing platform supporting some of the most demanding environments in the modern economy—including data centers, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, and other mission-critical facilities.

Our strength comes from bringing together exceptional operating companies, deep technical expertise, advanced fabrication capabilities, and the scale of a national platform. Across our organization, our people share a commitment to safety, performance, accountability, and delivering exceptional results for our customers.

We’re looking for a Director, Artificial Intelligence, to join our team and help us continue building what comes next.

The Opportunity
Build the Future of AI at TriplePoint.

This isn't a role focused on experimenting with AI or simply introducing new tools. We're looking for a strategic, hands-on leader who knows how to build an enterprise AI program, establish the right governance, and turn emerging technology into meaningful business outcomes.

As our first dedicated AI leader, you'll have the opportunity to build and lead our AI Center of Excellence, shape our enterprise AI strategy, develop a high-performing team, and introduce solutions that improve productivity, streamline operations, and support continued growth across our portfolio of mechanical construction and field service businesses.

You’ll partner closely with executive leadership, IT, Operations, Finance, and our operating companies to identify opportunities, manage risk, and build scalable AI capabilities that deliver measurable value.

If you're energized by building something from the ground up, bringing structure to emerging technology, and turning AI strategy into real-world results, this is your opportunity.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and lead TriplePoint's enterprise AI strategy, roadmap, and governance framework aligned with business priorities and growth objectives.
  • Build and implement an AI risk management framework using NIST AI RMF and industry best practices to ensure responsible, secure, and effective AI adoption.
  • Establish standards for AI evaluation, model performance, accuracy, monitoring, risk mitigation, and ongoing governance.
  • Create visibility into AI tools, models, and capabilities being used across the organization, including embedded and emerging AI technologies.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and IT leadership to ensure AI solutions align with enterprise security, compliance, and technology standards.
  • Establish processes for evaluating and prioritizing AI opportunities based on business value, risk, data readiness, and organizational impact.
  • Launch and lead TriplePoint's AI Center of Excellence, establishing the operating model, governance, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Develop a scalable approach for identifying, evaluating, prioritizing, and implementing AI opportunities across our operating companies.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify operational challenges where AI can improve efficiency, productivity, decision-making, and customer outcomes.
  • Establish a network of AI champions across the organization to encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and adoption.
  • Build a multi-year AI roadmap that balances immediate business opportunities with longer-term technology capabilities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing clear recommendations on AI investments, opportunities, performance, and risk.
  • Lead the development and deployment of AI solutions that solve meaningful business challenges.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities in estimating, bid and proposal analysis, contract review, project documentation, field service, and operational workflows.
  • Establish evaluation frameworks that measure solution accuracy, reliability, cost, and business impact before production deployment.
  • Partner with Data, Enterprise Architecture, Applications, and Integration teams to ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, and supported by reliable data.
  • Establish clear business cases, success metrics, and performance reporting to demonstrate the value of AI investments.
  • Drive AI solutions beyond proof of concept into sustainable production use with measurable operational and financial results.
  • Lead the enterprise adoption strategy for AI productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot and Claude Enterprise.
  • Develop training, resources, and practical use cases that help employees understand and effectively use AI in their daily work.
  • Partner with business and functional leaders to identify opportunities for AI-enabled workflow improvements and automation.
  • Establish adoption metrics that measure actual usage, productivity improvements, and business outcomes.
  • Support the development of AI assistants and agents that improve access to information, streamline processes, and strengthen employee effectiveness.
  • Lead change management initiatives that build trust, address concerns, and encourage responsible AI adoption across field and office teams.
  • Build and lead TriplePoint's AI function, developing the talent, capabilities, and operating structure needed to support the enterprise AI roadmap.
  • Establish clear priorities, accountability, and performance expectations as the team grows.
  • Manage relationships with technology providers, implementation partners, and external AI advisors.
  • Oversee AI investments, licensing, and operating costs while ensuring resources are aligned with business priorities.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend solutions based on business value, performance, scalability, and risk.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on AI initiatives, adoption, financial impact, and strategic opportunities.
What You Bring

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technology, including at least 3 years leading AI, data, or advanced analytics programs with accountability for business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience building and implementing enterprise AI governance frameworks using NIST AI RMF or comparable methodologies.
  • Proven experience developing AI evaluation frameworks, including model accuracy, reliability, risk management, performance monitoring, and production controls.
  • A track record of moving AI solutions beyond pilots into production with measurable adoption and business results.
  • Experience evaluating and selecting AI models and platforms based on performance, accuracy, cost, and business requirements.
  • Experience designing or implementing AI agents and automated workflows with appropriate human oversight and risk controls.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft AI ecosystem, including Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience with additional leading AI platforms and model providers.
  • Strong understanding of AI architecture, enterprise data environments, integration requirements, and information security considerations.
  • Experience developing business cases, managing budgets, and communicating technology investments and risks to executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop technical teams while managing external vendors and implementation partners.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex AI concepts into practical business recommendations.
  • A commitment to staying current with rapidly evolving AI technologies, capabilities, and industry practices.
What Will Set You Apart

While not required, experience with the following would be valuable:

  • Experience building or leading an enterprise AI Center of Excellence.
  • Experience in mechanical services, construction, manufacturing, distribution, field services, or other complex operational environments.
  • Experience implementing document intelligence solutions involving contracts, RFPs, specifications, project documentation, or other unstructured data.
  • Experience developing and deploying agentic AI solutions and orchestration frameworks in production environments.
  • Experience with AI cost optimization, model monitoring, and ongoing production performance management.
  • Experience supporting decentralized, multi-company, or private-equity-backed organizations.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and enterprise AI governance tools.
