Job summary

Apollo Global Management, Inc. is seeking a Director of Application Security to lead the firm’s security program across its software portfolio.

Based in New York, you will partner with engineering, security and business teams to embed security throughout the development lifecycle. You will drive threat modeling, secure design, SDLC tooling (SAST, SCA, secret scanning), and governance to meet industry standards.

Qualifications

10+ years of hands-on experience in Application Security.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or related field.
Success partnering with software teams to provide security oversight across complex apps.
Expertise with IDEs, version control, CI/CD, secure SDLC, and SaaS security tools (SCA, SAST, DAST).
Certifications such as CISSP/CSSLP/CASE are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead threat modeling for new and existing applications to identify risks and mitigations.
Guide secure design principles and align architecture with security controls.
Define and implement secure development lifecycle processes and tooling.
Integrate and maintain security tooling to streamline analysis and remediation.
Build a security champion program to foster developer engagement in secure coding.
Conduct regular code reviews and application assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
Establish governance to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
