Job summary

The U.S. Naval Institute in Annapolis, MD, is seeking a Director of Annual Giving to lead a comprehensive, multi-channel fundraising program that expands donor participation and builds a pipeline for major and planned gifts.

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will oversee direct mail, digital campaigns, leadership giving, and donor stewardship, using data analytics to optimize segmentation, forecasting, and ROI while aligning with our mission to advance sea power and global security.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of annual giving or related fundraising experience.
  • Proven success growing annual fund revenue.
  • Experience with giving days, digital fundraising, and leadership annual giving programs.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-channel annual fundraising efforts including direct mail, digital, leadership giving, and giving days.
  • Strengthen stewardship and messaging to deepen donor loyalty and increase lifetime value.
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive segmentation, forecasting, performance optimization, and KPI tracking for donations and retention.
  • Evaluate vendors, processes, and giving societies to maximize ROI and partner with senior leadership.
