Job description

The role reports to Conduent’s Chief Compliance Officer within the Corporate Compliance team, part of the Legal Department. We seek an experienced Director and Assistant General Counsel, Compliance to lead legal support for compliance initiatives, regulatory matters, and risk programs. The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of legal compliance experience, especially with regulatory frameworks, investigations, and risk management. Healthcare and financial services compliance experience is desirable.

Responsibilities:

1. Providing legal counsel on compliance issues, policies, controls, and third-party relationships.
2. Developing and improving Conduent’s Compliance Programs.
3. Advising on laws and regulations related to government contracting, anti-corruption, fraud prevention, and ethics.
4. Leading or supporting compliance projects, mentoring team members.
5. Partnering with risk and audit teams to assess and mitigate compliance risks.
6. Leading internal investigations and coordinating responses.
7. Collaborating with business teams to design compliance frameworks and manage audits.
8. Reviewing vendor contracts for compliance terms.
9. Interfacing with regulators on inquiries and enforcement matters.
10. Managing outside counsel and vendors.
11. Educating teams on compliance laws, trends, and obligations.
12. Supporting legal functions like litigation and contract review.

Requirements:

1. Juris Doctorate from a top-tier law school.
2. Active law license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
3. Minimum seven years of legal experience in compliance, regulation, or investigations.
4. Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or government contracting.
5. Advising leadership and teams on compliance risks and policies.
6. Strong communication, collaboration, and influence skills.
7. Ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency, judgment, and attention to detail.
