What you will need
  • Experience with data enablement of AI and agentic use cases, have delivered live projects and have an understanding of the challenges, use cases and technology.
  • Bachelor's Degree, Advanced Professional Qualification, or 10+ years direct experience in a field related to Data Management and AI.
  • Knowledge of core vendors in Data Management that enable data agents, and those that support AI and agentic readiness of data.
  • Understanding of core data management capabilities that enable and support AI and agentic use cases, such as Modern data management architectures (data fabric, data mesh, lakehouses) Knowledge graphs and their support for semantic modeling and ontology development Vector and Graph data stores (in their support for delivering context for AI) Data agents that support data engineering productivity Access to and integration of unstructured data for AI and context delivery. Techniques to support enabling AI-ready and agentic ready data.
  • Familiarity with Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO) initiatives, goals, objectives, and business value ROI.
  • Ability to confidently speak to C-Level Executives and provide actionable insights or explain concepts targeted and relatable to their role.
  • Strong organizational skills: ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrate excellence in research and writing ability.
  • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
  • Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable).

  • Build credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner research, methodology and strategy.
  • Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers in the research community.
  • Identify research process improvements or develop new processes that help the team and Research & Advisory provide excellent service delivery.
  • Be a mentor and a coach by supporting more junior team members.
Who you are

You came from a Data Management background and may have been a hands‑on practitioner in the past but as your career progressed you may have transitioned into a leadership role, where you started leading teams or teams of teams. You understand the bigger picture and the full lifecycle of data where considerations are made in data management platforms, data integration, data quality and metadata management solutions, relating to enabling data for AI use cases. You are proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challenges. You enjoy learning and being challenged intellectually on new topic areas or adjustments to previously held beliefs. You are a strong communicator who can explain complex concepts concisely and simply. You are a subject matter expert who is comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements. You can demonstrate executive presence and can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 148,000 USD - 175,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.

In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role‑based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
