Description

Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluationof long-term goals, objectives and strategies to establish aproductive continuum of alumni and volunteer engagement andcommitment for an assigned college.

  • 1. Serves as the primary alumni officer for an assigned college,building effective relationships with alumni in support of theuniversity's fundraising and engagement efforts.
  • 2. In conjunction with the Office of Alumni Relations, directs acomprehensive alumni engagement strategy for the college, includingthe development and implementation of campaigns, networkingopportunities, social events, annual awards, and alumni reunionsand receptions.
  • 3.Plans, organizes and develops methods for increasing alumni andvolunteer participation in college activities.
  • 4. Manages a portfolio of alumni, prospects and key volunteers forthe college. Identifies opportunities to engage prospects throughnetworking and mentorship events.
  • 5. Plans and develops strategies and fundraising programs forgenerating revenue and resources for alumni programs, such asreunions and event sponsorships.
  • 6. Collaborates with the University's Advancement Office and thecollege's Alumni Association to effectively recruit alumnivolunteers.
  • 7. Establishes metrics to track and assess alumni engagement andidentifies areas of improvement.
  • 8. Manages all aspects of alumni event planning, includinglogistics and communications, budget administration, resourceallocation and the training and supervision of volunteer staff.Participates in university alumni and development activities asneeded.
  • 9. Collaborates with the university's communication and publicrelations staff to maintain direct communication with collegealumni, including regular print publications and newsletters,alumni webpages, email blasts, and social media networks.
  • 10. Performs other duties as required.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following:
  • Volunteer management experience with alumni or other volunteerrelated boards
  • Experience cultivating and maintaining relationships with currentand prospective donors, ensuring effective communication and engagement to foster a sense of philanthropiccommitment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including anability to interact with all levels of both internal andexternal stakeholders.
  • Service leadership skills including mutual respect, activelistening, responsiveness, empathy, advocacy, and transparency.
  • Must be a multi-tasker, extremely organized, and have the abilityto work in a high-pressured environment, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Highest level of professionalism and respect forconfidentiality.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
  • Highest level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite,especially Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Higher Education experience and familiarity with current andfuture trends and developments.
  • Relevant higher education experience preferred.

MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical andpractical aspects of an analytical, technical or professionaldiscipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professionaldiscipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtainedthrough a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a collegeor university or an equivalent in-depth specialized trainingprogram that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directlyjob-related experience.
