Job summary

Code and Theory in New York seeks a Director of Product Management, Data & Infrastructure to lead The Machine's core services and data ingestion work. You will shape platform foundations and enable scalable AI-powered workflows across the organization.

This role blends AI systems, data engineering, and product design, requiring hands-on prototyping, collaboration with Data Science, Engineering, and UX, and a track record shipping data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Significant product management experience leading data platform or infrastructure products.
• Experience shipping data- or ML-powered products (data pipelines, RAG, or agentic workflows).
• Ability to prototype and scaffold work using AI tooling.
• Fluency in data tooling and architecture: APIs, ETL, ontology/knowledge-graph concepts, and orchestration frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the roadmap for The Machine's core services, data ingestion, and query/context layers.
• Identify ways to make data pipelines, harmonization, and the shared context layer faster, more reliable, and reusable.
• Translate broad problem spaces into concrete features, prototypes, and launch plans.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Engineering, and UX to prioritize features and run fast experiments.
• Prototype ingestion patterns and query interfaces in sandbox environments.
• Define success metrics and evaluate performance to inform production decisions.
• Partner with AI architecture and Solutions Engineering for scalable deployments.
• Help onboarding data sources and interaction with the query layer.
• Present prototypes, findings, and roadmaps to leadership and partner teams.
