Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead data science team for AI/ML models related to disease progression and patient engagement.
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand requirements and design solutions.
  • Review and improve AI/ML models and engineering designs.
  • Develop and evolve the Data Science and Engineering roadmap for relevant programs.
  • Ensure high standards of quality, timeliness, and scalability.
  • Coordinate with global teams for smooth project execution.
  • Plan and develop talent, processes, and capabilities within Optum AI.
  • Recommend technical patterns aligned with architecture standards.
  • Work with Product and Capability Architects to align solutions with enterprise architecture.
  • Manage technical debt and promote continuous improvement.
  • Influence product management to achieve architectural objectives.

Required Qualifications
  • MS in Computer Science or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience with programming languages like Python, SQL, and cloud services like Databricks and Azure AI.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques such as clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years of data science experience.
  • Advanced statistical knowledge and application experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

The salary range is $124,500 to $239,400 annually, based on various factors. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentives, stock options, and 401k contributions. All employees must adhere to the Telecommuter Policy.
