Job summary

SMBC, based in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Director of Software Delivery Architecture to lead enterprise software delivery capabilities with focus on SSDLC, DevSecOps, and AI-enabled development. You will shape architecture standards, platform engineering, and governance across the organization, driving modernization and secure, scalable delivery.

The role collaborates with Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data, and Risk teams to align technology objectives with business goals,

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Software Eng., Enterprise Architecture, or related tech leadership.
• Experience designing AI-enabled engineering solutions across SDLC.
• Knowledge of SSDLC, SDLC, Agile delivery, and DevSecOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the enterprise Software Delivery Architecture strategy, roadmap, and target-state architecture.
• Establish governance frameworks and patterns for SSDLC, DevSecOps, platform engineering, and software governance.
• Create reference architectures for development, testing, deployment, and release management.
• Set platform standards for source control, CI/CD, testing, security scanning, and deployment automation.
• Provide architectural oversight for development platforms and toolchains.
• Lead modernization initiatives to improve delivery velocity, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data, and Risk teams.
• Evaluate emerging engineering technologies and AI governance principles.
• Identify AI/automation opportunities to improve speed, quality, and efficiency across SDLC.
• Pilot and lead AI-powered engineering solutions to boost productivity and outcomes.
• Drive tooling rationalization and optimization to reduce platform complexity.
